With some misc. plywood, a pallet and a couple nails, we were able to make an awkward new spot under the 1300S overpass.  Andy figured it out quick and nailed some nice one foot rolls to grinds off the end of the upper ledge.  I on the other hand was having trouble and decided to take advantage of the slippery plywood and perfectly wax ledge and went grind to cess slide down and through the kink.  Go check it out before some bum uses the wood for his home – Beastmaster

I am sure we have all seen this spot a millions times.  Conveniently located to Don Rafa Taco Stand the Sears granite ledge guardrail is a great non bust.  To wrap up our session yesterday we stop to grab some tacos and mess around at this spot.  Even during busy hours the spot is generally a non bust and a great time.  Enjoy these quick-messing-around hits and hopefully look for something more legit soon. – Beastmaster

As you all know the infamous Ghetto Spot, which was once a go-to spot for most of us in SLC, has been out of commission for nearly a year and a half after Andy, Tyson, Aaron and I got handed $150 trespassing tickets for skating there one night.  Well fortunately for us a new urban apparel company has moved into the neighboring building and is cool with us skating there (we asked).  Needless to say I think having that in our back pocket is a get-out-of-jail (trespassing ticket) free pass if there are ever any other encounters with power-tripping cops.  With that said, show respect and be smart about when you skate there so that we can keep this spot bust-free.  - Beastmaster

With winter now upon us and snow on the ground, skateable spots have become limited.  Especially at night.  Fortunately there are several overpasses that have one thing or another to hit underneath them.  While out searching for spots the other night I spotted this weird c-like barrier wall.  The barriers were all close enough together and aligned well enough that you could actually grind around the c clockwise.  Excited to try out my newly purchased mini generator, Andy and I decided to hit them up while the weather was at least tolerable.  As luck would have it we both did the same trick around them.  One topside, one not.  Although it’s a little difficult to hit it still turned out to be a pretty good time.  - Beastmaster

Being in an office all week, Saturday’s become more and more valuable.  It’s dark when you go to work and it’s dark when you leave work.  To add to that it’s cold so finding the motivation to get out and blade the one park or the few spots that are lit during the winter months is hard.  For as long as I have been in my career Saturday from 11a-5p has been allocated to blading.  Most people that know me, bladers or not, know that as well.  It’s during those 6 hours a week that I am able to finally quit checking my Outlook, my calendar, and all the things that occupy my mind on a consistant basis throughout the week.  I’m extremely fortunate to have a wife that supports those hours and realizes their importance.

Now getting back to where I was originally going with this post; Saturdays.  Waking up to 5″ of snow was not what I was looking forward to.  After I finished up my morning’s activities I thought I would make the most of the afternoon and set out to do some work – blade spot work.

ERock – Fishbrain Stall

Reaching down into my inner bro and with quite a few grunts, a lot of sweat and a sore back and arms, I took the ramps that were hidden out side of what we started to called the “Hidden Skatepark” and pulled, pushed and shimmied them into the neighboring abandoned building.  After finishing up, ERock hit me up and was off work and wanted to make some moves.  And here they are.  - Beastmaster

**If you do happen to know where this spot is at PLEASE DO NOT skate it during the week as there is construction going on right near it and I do not want this spot to be discovered/ruined.

Soon after this shot ERock fell/flipped/spun/whatever you want to call it and what could have been the end of this blog (kicking the camera) turned out to just be what feels to be a broken knuckle on my right hand.  Thanks to my cat-like reflexes and being able to swing the camera out of the way the blog will continue haha.   Basically he spun-kicked me in the hand sending parts from my pocket wizard flying from the impact.  Fortunately my hand will heal and the camera was saved. – Beastmaster
